JAMMU, Jan 16: JKPCC chief GA Mir today said the worst ever mis-governance and misrule of PDP-BJP left the people of the State in lurch and the overall situation deteriorated in Kashmir Valley.
Addressing a party convention at Sangrampur in Marh constituency, the PCC chief said that BJP virtually failed to handle the situation in J&K during its unholy coalition in the State. He said BJP and PDP entered into an opportunist alliance for the sake of power and compromised their core issues for the sake of power. They remained engaged in the tug of war during their whole period in office, which caused great harm to the secular and social fabric of the State.
Mir said that Congress always strengthened democracy and countered the anti-national and anti-democracy forces at the cost of sacrifices. He said Congress is the only secular and unifying force in the country which strengthened the secularism. He asked the party cadre to educate masses about failures of Modi Government on all fronts and to deliver on their poll promises besides worst ever betrayal with people of the state during their unholy coalition.
Former Deputy CM, Tara Chand, speaking on the occasion said that BJP has brought Jammu and Kashmir at a stage with one region is stood against other. “It was Congress Government which always kept all three regions united as one unit. There was equal share in development and employment without any disparity,” he said, while praising the people friendly policy of the previous Congress Government.
Former Minister Mula Ram said that State BJP leaders always pleaded that they are the well wishers of Jammu region but after getting huge mandate in 2014 Assembly elections, they compromised the interests of Jammu for the lust of power, but the people of Jammu are now matured enough to teach this party a lesson. He exhorted the party workers to make people aware about the peace, prosperity and secular policies of the Congress, so that the communal forces, who are trying to create a wedge between communities, are given befitting reply in the forthcoming Assembly elections.
PCC vice president Raman Bhalla described the Congress party as an instrument of service, duty bound to seek resolution of the issues confronting people. Holding previous PDP-BJP Government responsible for the “uncertainty” and “anguish” among the people in the State, Bhalla said the coalition partners after securing votes from the people failed to come up to their expectations.
