JAMMU, Sept 9: Senior police officers including Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police had a miraculous escape after false ceiling collapsed in the newly inaugurated state-of-the-art terminal building at Jammu Airport today.
As per police sources, a meeting was going on in the office of SSP Airport prior to the visit of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who is arriving tomorrow.
DIG Rafiq-ul-Hassan, SSP Airport, several DySPs including Incharge DySP Security of Rajya Sabha Member Ghulam Nabi Azad and some other officers were present in the meeting when the false ceiling collapsed. All the police officers had miraculous escape.
Police sources informed that this was not the first incident of false ceiling collapse as in the past also over half dozen such incidents had taken place.
