Minor girl’s murder case handed over to CB

JAMMU, Jan 23: The State Government today handed over the case of murder of minor girl in Hiranagar tehsil of Kathua district to the Crime Branch.
An announcement to this effect was made by Parliamentary Affairs and Revenue Minister Abdul Rehman Veeri in the Assembly.
In the evening, Police Headquarters issued a press note saying, the Kathua kidnapping and murder case has been transferred to the Crime Branch for expeditious investigation.
Following the orders, Additional Director General of Police, Crime Branch, Headquarters, has constituted Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the case.
The SIT has been directed to finalize the investigation expeditiously and submit the progress reports in the office of ADGP Crime Branch on daily basis.
The SIT headed by Additional SP, Crime Branch Kashmir Peerzada Naveed comprised DySP Crime Branch Jammu, Nissar Hussain, DySP Crime Branch, Jammu, Shetambari Sharma. SI Irfan Wani and ASI Tariq Ahmad.
