Minor dies due to alleged negligence, doctor suspended

DODA, May 5: One and half year old minor girl died due to alleged negligence by a doctor in a private clinic here today.
As per sources, Hamid Ullah, hailing from Ganika area of the Doda district brought her one and half year old daughter Sumaira to a private clinic here for treatment.
The doctor present in the clinic after examining the girl gave her some treatment and later shifted the minor to District Hospital Doda for further treatment.
During further treatment in the operation theatre, the doctor identified as Rattan Singh Manhas, Consultant Pediatric, DH Doda declared the girl as dead.
The parents alleged that their daughter died due to alleged negligence of the doctor. They added that the injection injected by the doctor at his clinic was double dose, the heaviness of which the ailing girl could not bear.
As the news of the ailing girl spread, people along with deceased’s family members held protest.
Amid slogans against Government and Health authorities, the protestors demanded immediate suspension and arrest of the said doctors.
When contacted DC Doda Bhupinder Kumar said that the doctor has been placed under suspension and an inquiry has been initiated in the minor girl’s death case.
He asserted that action will be taken against guilty.
