SRINAGAR: A mild intensity earthquake was felt in Srinagar and its adjoining area this evening.
The tremors, which were felt at 1914 hrs, lasted a few seconds forcing people to rush out of their houses in panic.
Reports said tremors were also felt in Kupwara in north Kashmir and Poonch, Kishtwar and Bhadarwah in Jammu region. However, there was no report of any loss of life or damage to property, officials said.
A Met department spokesman said details about the quake, including its epicenter and intensity were being collected. (AGENCIES)
