MHRD Secy reviews CUK functioning

Srinagar, Jan 31: Ashok Thakur, Secretary, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) Department of Higher Education, today met senior faculty members and reviewed the functioning of the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) at its Transit Campus in Sonwar.
A detailed presentation about the recent progress made by the University on the fronts of academics, admission process, and recruitment of non-teaching and teaching staff, examination and the development of the campus at Ganderbal was jointly presented by the Dean School of Legal Studies and the Registrar of the University.
Thakur was also briefed about the possibility of starting the construction process at Ganderbal in next few months after the necessary finalization of the Master Plan of the campus and inking of agreement between the architect, PMC and the University is completed in the second week of February.
While interacting with the participants, Thakur highlighted the new impetus made in the field of Higher Education in  the recent past with due focus in the 12th Five-Year Plan (2012-2017), towards quality and excellence in Higher Education.
He also emphasized upon the need for motivating the students to work hard and smart in order to be ready to face the challenges posed by the global competitive environment.
