DODA, Aug 20: Demanding release of work done payment, the MGNREGA job card holders held protest against Rural Development Department (RDD).
Amid slogans, a large number of MGNREGA job card holders took out rally to BDO Office Changa and held protest.
Addressing the gathering, the protestors said that despite repeated request to BDO regarding release of work done payments form 2016 to 2017, nothing has been done today, which forced them to held protest.
“We know very well that all the material and work done payments have been misappropriated by the concerned department during the period from 2016 to 2017”, they said and alleged that some funds under MGNREGA have been made to some selected persons who happens to have the hand in glove with the concerned BDOs and others.
They said that fake bills of the payments have been made against the purchased material and demanded immediate release of their pending payments, failing which they will protest in aggressive manner and for any untoward incident, the concerned officials will be responsible.
Those, who addressed the gathering were Fayaz Batt, Amar Chand Sharma, Mohammad Abass Rather, Mustaq Ahmed Zargar, etc.
