JAMMU, Sept 1: All J&K MGNREGA Association today went on three-day pen down strike to press the Government to fulfill their demands.
Speaking on the occasion, Sandeep Kalotra, president of the association for Jammu province, said that they requested many times to the Government to fulfill their genuine demands of but no favourable step was taken so far.
“Therefore, the association has resorted to go on three-day pen down strike in all districts of the State” he said and reiterated their demand of enhancement of salary of MGNREGA employees.
He also criticized the Government for paying only 1/3 of the salary to the employees who have been working in Rural Development Department for 6-8 years under MGNREGA scheme.
