Menthol declines on reduced offtake

NEW DELHI, Nov 12: In thin trading, menthol prices were down by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today owing to reduced offtake by consuming units amid adequate stocks.
Menthol bold crystal, flake and mentha oil prices fell by Rs 5 each to conclude at Rs 1,020, Rs 1,000 and Rs 980 per kg, respectively.
Traders said reduced offtake by consuming industries against increased arrivals from producing regions mainly pulled down menthol prices.

Caustic soda flake (50 kg) Rs 2,100-2,150, Citric acid (50 kg) (China) Rs 2,950-3,250, Citric acid deshi (50 kg) Rs 3,000-3,500, Camphor slab (1 kg) Rs 320, Camphor powder (1kg) Rs 285, Glycerin (1 kg) Rs 140-160, Hexamine (1kg) Rs 92, Hydrogen peroxide (1 kg) Rs 35-50, menthol bold crystal (per kg) Rs 1,020, menthol flake (1 kg) Rs 1,000 and mentha oil (1kg) Rs 980.
