Mentha oil remains up on pick-up in demand

NEW DELHI, Apr 16:  Mentha oil remained up for the second day as prices rose further by 0.16 per cent to Rs 856.50 per kg in futures trading today on the back of pick-up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in May added Rs 1.40, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 856.50 per kg in a business turnover of 45 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in April edged up by 70 paise, or 0.08 per cent, to Rs 844 per kg in 115 lots.
Analysts said apart from pick-up in demand from consuming industries, tight supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly helped mentha oil prices to trade higher at futures trade for the second day. (PTI)
