Mentha oil futures slip on profit-booking

NEW DELHI, Aug 14: Mentha oil futures fell 2.63 per cent to Rs 1,637 per kg today as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels amid fall in demand at the spot market.
Besides, adequate stocks position on higher supplies from major producing belts of Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh fuelled the downtrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery this month declined by Rs 44.30, or 2.63 per cent, to Rs 1,637 per kg in a business turnover of 959 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in September traded lower by Rs 40.30, or 2.33 per cent, at Rs 1,690 per kg in 146 lots.
Analysts said besides profit-booking by participants, fall in demand from consuming industries at the spot market against ample stocks position weighed on mentha oil futures. (PTI)
