Mentha oil futures fall 0.45% on sluggish demand

NEW DELHI, Jan 27: Mentha oil prices fell by 0.45 per cent to Rs 817.10 per kg in futures trade today as traders reduced their positions, tracking a weak trend at spot market on sluggish industrial demand.
Besides, adequate stocks position in the physical market following higher arrivals from Chandouisi in Uttar Pradesh also put pressure on mentha oil.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in January fell by Rs 3.70, or 0.45 per cent, to Rs 817.10 per kg in business turnover of 74 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in February declined by Rs 3.60, or 0.43 per cent, to Rs 827.70 per kg in 107 lots.
Market analysts said traders reduced their positions, triggered by sluggish industrial demand in the spot market mainly led to fall in mentha oil prices at futures market.
They said adequate stocks position following increased arrivals from Chandouisi in Uttar Pradesh also influenced the oil prices. (AGENCIES)
