POONCH, Nov 23: The girl students of Degree College Mendhar have urged upon the State Government to provide hostel facility to them as they are facing lot of hardships.
Talking to Excelsior, the Degree College students said that many of them belong to far flung villages of Mendhar Sub Division. Their villages are mostly situated closer to the Line of Control. It takes about 3-4 hours to them to reach college from certain areas. Moreover, the vehicles always remain over loaded.
They pointed out that since the establishment of college at Mendhar, they were requesting to the College authorities and local representative (MLA) to create hostel facility for them but their plea has not been taken seriously.
They claimed that due to non-availability of hostel facility, they are facing many problems. During Pakistani firing in some forward locations, they fail to reach home. Their parents remain worried and under such circumstances some girls have left their studies. Therefore, realizing these hard facts, the Education Minister and the Chief Minister should come to their rescue and sanction funds for the hostel.
