MENDHAR, Apr 22: Mendhar Cup T20 Cricket Tournament got underway at OP Hill Stadium, here today.
In the inaugural match, Blue Star Cricket Club defeated New Five Star Cricket Club by 7 wickets in an easy contest.
Batting first, New Five Star Club scored a paltry total of 77 runs in 18 overs. Mumtaz Hussain Shah was the pick of the bowlers for Blue Star Club, who claimed 3 important wickets.
In reply, Blue Star Club chased the target easily in 9.5 overs by losing 3 wickets, thus won the match by 7 wickets. Umar Khyam top scored with 30 runs, while Javed contributed 18 runs to the total. Umar Khyam was adjudged man of the match.
The Tournament is being organized by Asif Khan, Yasir Khan and Nasir Khan, while NGO National Social Development Organisation and Press Council of Mendhar are the sponsors of the Tournament.
