MEF takes serious note of nexus between outsiders, hospital staff

JAMMU, Nov 22: Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (MEF) held a meeting under the chairmanship of its president Sushil Sudan.
During the meeting, Sudan took strong notice of the patients admitted in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu, who are lured by the private diagnostic centres for getting their investigations done.
He added that some agents of the chemist shops also influence the patients for getting medicines and other items purchased from them for which a big list is handed over by the treating doctors for operation and other treatments.
“It appears that nexus between outsiders and hospital staff for which this illegal practice is going in such a big hospital and poor and needy patients are looted at the hands of such elements, which is a crime”, he added.
The federation urged the Principal Government Medical College besides Superintendent DMCH, SMGS Hospital and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu to check illegal activities forthwith, failing to which the federation shall launch an agitation against own department on the responsibility of Medical Education Department.
