Medical education prog commences

JAMMU, Sept 22: Two days medical education programme on “Stress Management in the Armed Forces” commenced at Headquarters Northern Command.
Lieutenant General D Anbu, GOC-in-C, Northern Command inaugurated the event.
In his opening address, the Army Commander highlighted the growing importance of stress management in light of the changing socio-economic dynamics in the society and its impact on the soldiers. He exhorted the medical officers to remain abreast with the contemporary practice in the field and suitably apply those in the Army.
The programme is being conducted to evolve stress management strategies and furtherance of expertise of medical officers of the Armed Forces in managing stress related issues.
Over 100 eminent faculty members from the tri-services and reputed medical institutions across the country are attending the programme.
A workshop on “Stress Management Techniques” is also being conducted by faculty of NIMHANS, Bengaluru to enhance the skills of the medical officers.
