JAMMU, June 9: Media-XI Cricket Club, Jammu remained better off Raju Dabholkar Cricket Club (RDCC) Mumbai by a margin of 59 runs in the inaugural match of the Interstate Integration Cup being played at Country Cricket Stadium, here.
The Inter-State Integration Cup is being organized by the Game Changer Cricket Club R S Pura in collaboration with Country Cricket Academy.
The match was inaugurated by chief guest Ankush Abrol, former Member BCCI and Working Committee Member JKCA, while Dr Vikas Sharma, NSF state president and Devender Padha were the guests of honour. Upender Parmar and Rajinder Dabholkar, RDCC chairman and Sumedh Pawar, RDCC coach were the special guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Abrol lavished praise on the organizers for providing opportunity to the players to test their cricketing skills, besides helping them to exchange culture. He assured full support to more such initiatives.
Earlier, put into bat, Media XI posted a challenging 163 runs target in the stipulated 20 overs. Openers Surya (43 runs) and Suryansh (21 runs) were the main contributors, scoring 72 runs first 6 overs. Yash Khajuria and Kunal also contributed 25 and 20 runs respectively.
For RDCC Mumbai, Tushar was the pick of the bowlers, scalping 4 important wickets, while Sahij, Mowalik and Mihir also shared wicket apiece.
Chasing the target, RDCC Mumbai bundled out for 103 runs in the penultimate over of the innings, thus lost the match by 59 runs.
Viraj (31 runs) remained the top scorer for RDCC while Mowlik (20 runs) and Mayank (11) were the others to reach double figure mark.
Sunil Bali and Sunil Sambyal from Media -XI CC grabbed 2 wickets each while Ashu, Rajiv, Lucky, Kunal and Ravi also shared wicket apiece.
Surya of Media XI was adjudged as the man of the match for good batting display. Kunal and Tushar of RDCC were adjudged best fielder and best bowler respectively.
