Media XI overpowers SKCC by 41 runs

Jammu, Feb 1: Media XI Cricket Club defeated Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Club by a margin of 41 runs in a friendly match played at Satwari ground, here today.
Media XI Cricket Club led by Yash Khajuria, after winning the toss opted to bat first. With an excellent batting display by Sunil Bali (40 of 29 balls) and Amit Sudan (24 of 19 balls), Media XI mounted 155 runs’ target on scoreboard in the 20 overs on slow batting track.
For SKCC Abhishek, Jimmy, Navdeep, Sunil, Rishab and Shallu shared a wicket each.
In their run chase SKCC, suffered early blow as Yash Khajuria eliminated skipper Aman Cheema in the very first over of the innings. Overcoming the initial loss SKCC garnered 50 runs at the end of batting power play. After then tight bowling performances by Amit Sudan, Vivek Suri and Sunil Bali tamed SKCC well in the middle overs as the asking rate kept escalating to 9 runs an over. SKCC could not held their nerves under pressure and got all out on 114.
With Amit Sudan, Sunil Bali shared 2 wickets each, Ranjit Singh with 4 overs 12 runs and 3 wickets remained the pick of the bowlers for Media XI. Yash Khajuria, Ashu Mehra and Vivek Suri also shared a wicket each.
For his all round performance Sunil Bali (40 runs and 2 wickets) was declared as Man of the Match.
