Medanta holds Multi specialty camp, awareness talk

JAMMU, Apr 24:  Medanta —The Medicity in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Police organized a two day multi specialty medical camp and awareness program at Police Auditorium, Gulshan Ground, here today.
The camp is being organized in collaboration with Medanta— the Medicity, a world renowned Multi Super Specialty Hospital.
Hundreds of police personnel and their family members were checked by a team of doctors having specialization in cardiology, urology, neurology, breast cancer, diabetes, endocrine and orthopaedics. The team of doctors was assisted by Para-medical staff from Medanta Hospital, as well as doctors of Police Hospital.
Around 500 patients were given free of cost consultation. Besides, free BP monitoring, Sugar check, ECG and echocardiography were done for the deserving patients from Police families.
On the occasion, Dr Kanchan Kaur gave a healthy awareness talk on breast cancer, Dr Hari Raj Tomar on Heart attack, its symptoms and precautions and Dr Vivek Sharma on arthritis. Dr Vivek also briefed on the myths and facts regarding Knee and joint replacement.
Discussion on healthy body and mental fitness was also delivered and the specialists highlighted the symptoms and causes of the diseases and the measures for their prevention.
Additional Director General of Police Headquarters, SP Vaid was the chief guest at the function.
In his address, Vaid said that the medical and awareness program has been organized by the department with an aim to benefit the retired and serving police personnel and their families. He said that the Organization has undertaken various welfare schemes for police personnel and health care is one of them.
