MBS Hockey Club to take on Khalsa Club in summit clash

JAMMU, Jan 24: Outplaying their rivals convincingly in their respective semifinals, MBS Hockey Club Simbal Camp and Khalsa Club Gole Gujral sealed berths in the finals today and will take on each other in the summit clash at KK Hakhu Astroturf Hockey Stadium, here.
In the first semifinal played today, MBS Hockey Club got better of Guru Nanak Nagar Hockey Club by two goals to nil (2-0). For MBS Hockey Club, both the goals were scored by Randeep Singh in 16th and 29th minutes.
Dr Sanjogita Soodan, Sports Medicine Specialist J&K Police was the chief guest on the occasion, while Shiv Kumar Sharma, Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council was the guest of honour.
In another semifinal match, Khalsa Club Gole Gujral defeated Deshmesh Hockey Club by three goals to nil (3-0). The goal scorers from Khalsa Club were Indpal Singh, Ravneet and Balmeet Singh in 27th, 37th and 58th minutes respectively.
Iqbal Singh, retired Manager J&K Bank was the chief guest on the occasion, while Harbans Singh, veteran Hockey player was the guest of honour.
The matches were officiated by Karanjit Singh, JS Reen, Joginder Singh, Satvir Singh, Jagjeet Singh and Iqbal Singh.
Prominent among those who witnessed the matches were Rajinder Singh, Senior Vice President Hockey India; Jaswant Singh, Senior Vice President Hockey J&K; GS Bakshi General Secretary Hockey J&K; MS Reen, Resident Secretary Hockey J&K and RS Bitta, Member.
