JAMMU, Aug 18: ‘Mayer-e-Tahqeek”, a book written on research methodology by Prof Shohab Inayat Malik, HoD Urdu, University of Jammu, was today released by JU Vice-Chancellor Prof R D Sharma.
The book release function, attended by students , scholars , poets , writers and civil society members, was presided over by noted Punjabi short story writer Khalid Hussain while Prof Kedar Nath , Dean Faculty of Arts, JU was chief guest..
Dr Asif Alimi presented a detail paper on the book and describe it as useful for the students and scholars who are doing their M Phil and Ph D. “Mayer-e-Tahqeek”, according to Dr Asif Illmi, was written in a simple but an impressive language and the author has got ideas from great scholars of Urdu language and literature and also quoted them to prove his thoughts.
The book, written by Prof Shohab Inayat Malik, contains 215 pages and has been published by Qasmi Qutub Khana Jammu. The book has been edited by Dr Javed Mugal, Assistant Professor in Urdu in GDC Kathua.
Prof RD Sharma describe Urdu department the most vibrant department of University of Jammu which is flourishing day by day under the headship of Prof Shohab Inayat Malik. Describing books a great treasure, Prof Sharma advice the students and scholars to consult the books regularly while highlighting the achievements of Jammu University
In his presidential address, Khalid Hussain said that the book should be translated into other language also so that the students of other language are also be benefitted.
Earlier, the Vice Chancellor also inaugurated two day National Urdu Book Exhibition. Near about 5000 titles have been kept in the exhibition, which are being provided to students, scholars and civil society members on 20 percent discount. Books regarding the syllabi have also been kept in the exhibition.
The proceeding of the program was conducted by Dr Abdul Rashid Manhas while vote of thanks was conducted by Dr Chaman Lal.
