Mayawati to raise Singh’s remark over dalits in Parliament: BSP

JAMMU, Oct 24: Former Chief Minister and Chairperson of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Mayawati will raise the issue of remark of VK Singh over dalits in the Parliament.
This was disclosed by Tarsem Lal Khullar, president, BSP during a press conference here today. He added that the remark of VK Singh over dalits is highly condemnable.
He appealed to the State Government to call a special session of the J&K Legislature and pass the law for extending 77th, 81st and 85th amendments in the State, adding that there is great resentment among the scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and other backward sections of society over the anti-attitude of the present PDP-BJP Government in the State and BJP Government in the Centre.
Khullar also criticized the RSS and BJP for creating an environment of fear psychosis among dalits and minorities particularly among the Muslims.
Against the defeat of reservation policy by the present dispensation, the State Unit of BSP is organizing one day rally, which will start from Dr BR Ambedkar Chowk and after passing through Bikram Chowk, Dogra Chowk. Indira Chowk, Kacchi Chawni, Panjtirthi will culminate at Raj Bhawan, where a memorandum will be submitted to Governor.
Khullar appealed to all social organizations including sabhas, students’ organizations and other socio-political organizations of SCs, STs, OBCs and Minorities to participate in the rally and make it a grand success.
He stated that some forces are hell bent to destroy the reservations in the Country, thereby destroying the social fabric of society. He informed that the reservations are not a charity being given by ruling classes, but is a matter of representation to the underprivileged sections of society.
Among others present were RL Chargotra, Rattan Bhagat, HC Thappa, Pawan Gupta, KL Attri, Charan Dass, BD Thappa, BL Dingra, SN Dogra, Raj Kumar Thappa, Charanjeet Bitta, Pritam Chand and Deepak Rana.
