I may be depressed but I don’t know about it: Al Pacino

LOS ANGELES, Sept 1:  After playing suicidal characters in two of his upcoming films, superstar Al Pacino says he might be suffering from depression.
Pacino stars in ‘The Humbling’ as an ageing theatre actor who has an affair with a younger woman, whereas in ‘Birdman’, he plays a suicidal theatre men who cannot seem to find the stage, said the Hollywood Reporter.
“I may be depressed but I don’t know about it. People go into depression and it’s very, very sad and it can last and it’s terrifying. I know that, I’ve had bouts with stuff that comes close to that, but not with that intensity. I feel spared, I feel lucky.”
“How does it go? You say I’m depressed? Life is sort of like all over us. Things make you sad. Basically you’d like to be a little happier sometimes. But ‘depressed’ seems so ominous. It’s really in all of us. We all relate to it,” he said.
And Pacino revealed that his kids make him happy most of all.
“I have three children. That’s been a real source of enlightenment for me, plus the friends I’ve had, the people I’ve met over the years, the relationships I’ve had. All of it has contributed to an amazing, shocking journey I’ve had so far. I feel as though I’m doing OK,” he said. (PTI)
