JAMMU, Aug 30:  Max Clinics organised a successful life style awareness  programme at  Green Belt Park here today.
More than 250 people suffering from various health ailments were benefited by expert guidance provided by a team of professions from Max Healthcare. The programme aimed at  providing support in the areas of  obesity, hypertension, rheumatology, diabetes, chronic diseases, physical activity, nutrition and posture related problems.
According to Dr Chitreshi Mahajan,  senior physical therapist at Max Clinics, a good posture counts more than good looks. Proper alignment prevents gradual deformity due to slumping and excessive spinal sway and allows muscles and metabolism to function at maximum efficiency. It helps to preserve full range of motion for joints, stable balance and a healthy nervous system and lowers your risk for injury in sports and daily activity.
Dr Mahajan said  diet is a particular pattern of eating and a balanced diet provides the correct amount of all nutrients without excess or deficiency to maintain health. There are many reasons why someone interested in their diet; for example to  improve health,  lose weight or to increase performance. All nutritional plans to be designed to suit individual goal differences and requirements and so there is not one diet that will suit everyone. It is important that changes to a diet are long term changes because individuals with the highest weight fluctuations have the greatest health risk independent of obesity.
“Every diet should have health in mind because even if you’re thin you can be unhealthy. If you’re overweight but physically fit, you have a much lower risk of getting cardiovascular disease than if you are lean and unfit. The two most important factors in a diet are correct intake of calories and appropriate nutrient levels,”  Dr Shivanshu Jamwal added.
According to  Anil Choudhary Manager,  Brand Promotion and Public Relations, Max Clinics, making a lifestyle change is challenging, especially when you want to transform many things at once. This time, think of it not as a resolution but as an evolution.
Lifestyle changes are a process that take time and require support. Once you are ready to make change, the difficult part is committing and following through. Careful planning means setting small goals and taking things one step at a time. The event was supported by SRL Diagnostics as the diagnostic partner.
