JAMMU, Jan 28: Minister for Public Works and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rehman Veeri today informed the Legislative Assembly that the matter regarding reservation in promotions for the Schedule Castes and Schedule Tribe categories in Government services is presently sub-judice in the Supreme Court of India.
The Minister said this while intervening in the Lower House during the debate on Discussion on Demand of Grants of the departments under the charge of Chief Minister after the issue was raised by various legislators.
The members also called for action against the police personnel who resorted to cane-charging on protesters of SC and ST categories today.
