Matoo reviews progress of Mission Indradhanush

JAMMU, Nov 6: Director, Family Welfare, MCH & Immunization, J&K, Dr Samir Matoo, reviewed progress of intensified Mission Indradhanush, which envisages 90% immunization by December 2018, in a meeting held here on Sunday.
The meeting was attended by SEIPO, Dr Yangchain Dolma, CMO Jammu, Dr Sanjay Turki, SMO WHO, Dr Ravinder, DIO, Dr Sanjay Sharma and Dr Ashok Kumar (Nodal Officer).
During the meeting, the preparations regarding 2nd round of intensified Mission Indradhanush were discussed. The 2nd round of the Mission will start from November 7 for seven consecutive days up to November 13 including Sunday.
In the vaccine drive, the left out and drop out children upto 5 years and pregnant women will be immunized, for which 1232 sessions have been planned in the 9 blocks and urban areas of Jammu district.
Matoo also discussed the achievements of the 1st round held in the month of October in which 3620 children and 318 pregnant women were immunized. The 2nd round will be followed by two more rounds in the month of December 2017 and January 2018.
