UDHAMPUR, Jan 21: Massive fire that broke out last night in the forest range Panchari, today engulfed a large portion of Badhota Top, Loudhra Top and Galiote Top forests in Udhampur district.
The fire broke out last night in compartment 69 & 54 of Badhota, Galiote Forest Range of Panchari causing huge loss to forest. Hundreds of trees and saplings reduced to ashes in the fire, which also severely damaged environment and eco system in the area.
According to Angrez Singh, Rang Officer Forest Department in Panchari area, help was locals was being taken to control the fire.
