Martyrdom day of Capt Bahadur Singh to be observed on Dec 15

JAMMU, Dec 13: The 45th Martyrdom Day of the Martyr Capt. Bahadur Singh who laid down his life in 1971 Indo-Pak war will be celebrated on December 15 at his native village Bhambo Chak, tehsil Ramgarh district, Samba.
During the function Chander Parkash Ganga, Minister of Industries and Commerce will be the chief guest.
This was stated by president and general secretary of the Committee looking after the arrangements, Sat Salarbi, Ujagar Singh while interacting with media persons at Vijaypur today. Capitan Bahadur Singh had attained martyrdom on December 15 in 1971 during the Indo-Pak War in Operation Cactus Lili in Rajasthan, they said.
Capitan Bahadur Singh is the icon of bravery, they said, adding the entire nation is proud of his sacrifices. In year 1994 Samarak (Statue) of Capitan Bahadur was established in his native village Bhambo Chak and a Committee of the prominent persons of the area was framed in the same year to observe the day in future.
Since 1994 every year the Martyrdom Day in the memory and gratification of Capitan Bahadur Singh is being celebrated. Sat Salarbi said that this year function will be celebrated in which Minister, Chander Parkash Ganga along with prominent dignitaries of the area will pay tributes to the martyr.  He appealed the people particularly youth of the area for the participation in the function. He said that such type of occasions inspire the youth for performing commendable job for the nation.
He said that the martyrdom of Capitan Bahadur Singh inspires the people that they should be always ready to pay supreme sacrifice for the cause of nation.
