JAMMU, May 19: Outplaying Satwari Zone by (2-0) sets in the summit clash, Marh Zone eves lifted the Under-14 Volleyball title in the ongoing Inter School District Level Tournament for girls in the sports disciplines of Kho-Kho, Kabaddi and Volleyball under the age group of 14 and 17 years for the year 2018-19 of District Jammu, which got underway, here today.
A good number of matches were played in all these disciplines, wherein the players showed composure and promise to vie for the top honours.
In all, 745 girls drawn from 14 Zones of Jammu District took part in the competitions, which are being organised by the Department of Youth Services & Sports under the patronage of Shiekh Fayaz Ahmad, Director General Youth Services & Sports and under the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director.
Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu is the Organising Secretary of the tournament.
The main objective of the competitions was to select the teams of Jammu District for Inter District Division Level Competitions.
Madan Lal was the chief guest on the opening ceremony, who while speaking on the occasion stressed upon the participants to play the games in the true spirit of sportsmanship.
