Manohar lays foundation of school buildings

KATHUA, Jan 9: Minister of State for Fisheries, Cooperatives, Finance and Planning Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today laid foundation of two school buildings at Badholi and Nouni villages in Hiranagar.
The construction work of these school building would be completed at the total estimated cost of Rs 15 lakh under Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA).
Addressing public meetings at Badholi and Nouni, the Minister said that upgradation of educational infrastructure has received focused attention of the Government.
He said keen attention was also given to provide quality, high and higher education facilities to the youth at their door steps and in this direction number of existing schools were upgraded to the next levels besides dozens of colleges and technical institutions established in the State.
He added that under Rashtriya Madhmik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) the target is to make secondary education available, accessible and affordable to all the youth across the State. He called upon the youth to work hard in their studies to compete in this competitive market.
Responding to the demands of the locals, the Minister said that due attention is being given to improve and upgrade basic amenities in these villages like other areas of the constituency. He assured the people that all their genuine demands and developmental needs would be redressed from the concerned departments on priority.
The Minister said that upgradation of education, health care, power supply and drinking water facilities besides road connectivity in these areas would be redressed on priority.
