KATHUA, Jan 28: Minister of State for Fisheries and Cooperatives, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today laid foundation stone of Government High School Building at Mooni of Billawar.
The newly upgraded school building will be completed with an estimated cost of Rs. 37 lakh under Rashtriya Madhmik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA).
Dr Sharma while speaking on the occasion said that Government has strengthened the school infrastructure by upgrading primary, middle, high schools up to the higher level resulting in shortening distances for the students seeking education.
He appealed the students to work hard if they wanted to achieve their dreams. He appealed the students to eschew laziness and work hard. He added that active engagement of students in co-curricular activities like sports, art and culture would go a long way to help students to channelize their energies for good use.
On the occasion Sarpanch Mooni Panchayat presented a charter of demands before the Minister which comprises construction of fair weather road from Seri Mooni to Billawar and hand pump for the area.   Responding to the demands, the Minister said that development works worth Rs. 12 lakh were completed in Mooni Panchayat under Constituency Development Fund.
Dr Sharma directed the XEn PWD to complete the school building & other under works of the area within prescribed time to avoid cost escalation.
