SAMBA, Dec 1: Former minister and PCC general secretary Manjit Singh today demanded separate Public Service Commission (PSC) and Regional Council for Jammu division in view of continuous discrimination with the people of this region.
While addressing monthly meeting of Congress workers  at Vijaypur today, former minister demanded Regional Council for Jammu and separate PSC to end discrimination being faced by people and especially, the  youth of  Jammu region.
The former minister said that under BJP partnered Government in the State, Jammu has faced worst kind of discrimination and ignorance in all the sectors  including development, recruitment, while a policy to appease separatists was adopted by the Government by giving amnesty to the anti- nationals.
The Congress leader said that the security force men who sacrifice their lives for nation and serve in the difficult situations were demoralized with the decision taken by the Government to release anti- nationals who attacked  security forces in Kashmir.
“Such decisions should be condemned by all the nationalist forces irrespective of their political affiliation but the BJP has compromised the national interest for the sake of power,”  PCC leader said.
He said that in employment sector, Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has ignored Jammuites who are unemployed. “The selection process under BJP Government remained discriminatory and deliberately ignored educated youth from Jammu,” he said.
With regard to Regional Council, he said, all the Legislative powers should also be given to Jammu so that people here can decide their developmental activities and other things for which they remained dependent on the leadership which was loyal to the Kashmir based leaders and surrendered everything for enjoying power.
Without naming a towering political Kashmiri leader from opposition, Manjit Singh advised him to give statements which should not mislead the people and expose his double standards. He said  PoK  is part of India and it should be taken back from Pakistan.
Senior party functionaries Babbal Gupta, Col (Retd) Swarn Singh, Shamsher Singh, Joginder Choudhary,  Capt ( Retd) Mohan Lal Sharma, Bachan Choudhary, Sohan Singh, Sain Dass Bhagat, Babu Ram and Surinder Sharma were also present.
