Manipur Govt to carry forward PM’s mission: Dr Jitendra

IMPHAL, Mar 15: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh has hailed the beginning of a new era in Manipur, marking the advent of a journey of development , along with the rest of India, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking to media persons after the swearing-in of new Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and his ministerial team here today, Dr Jitendra Singh said, the people of State had been for long yearning to come out of a protracted phase of blockades and delayed development projects. He said, the new Government which has taken over, will work with commitment and accountability to carry forward Narendra Modi’s “New India” mission with Amit Shah’s organisational discipline.
Meanwhile, BJP National President Amit Shah could not attend the oath ceremony today because the aircraft, in which he was travelling, developed a technical snag and had to go back to Delhi.
Referring to some of the Centre’s ambitious projects for the State of Manipur, Dr Jitendra Singh referred to the setting up of a Sports university which was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi nearly two years ago but was yet to take off. He hoped that the Biren Singh Government will soon sort out the pending issues and get the work started.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, the youth of Manipur are blessed with both physical attributes as well as academic calibre and hoped that new Government will be able to create jobs through promotion of handicraft and food industry coupled with restoration of peace and normalcy.
