JAMMU, Dec 7: Gujjar Nagar police arrested a man for raping his daughter-in-law.
As per police sources, a lady lodged a complaint with Police Post Gujjar Nagar stating that her father-in-law identified as Abdul Rashid Malik, son of Mohammad Zaman of Gujjar Nagar raped her. The complainant also stated that her father-in-law raped her various times in the past also, but due to social stigma she did not reported to police.
Acting over the complaint, a case under Section 376 RPC has been registered at Peer Mitha Police Post and hunt was launched to arrest the rapist.
On specific information, a team from Gujjar Nagar Police Post conducted raid and arrested the rapist.
After conducting medical examination, the woman has been handed over to her family members.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by Incharge Gujjar Nagar Police Post SI Shariq Bhat made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Peer Mitha Inspector Javed Malik, SDPO City Varun Jandial and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
