REASI, Oct 1: An elderly man was brutally murdered by his son-in-law at village Khade, in tehsil Pouni, here last night.
The deceased has been identified as Lal Chand (60), son of Ballu Ram, a resident of Khwas in Rajouri district. He had gone to his daughter’s house at village Khade where he was stabbed to death by his son-in-law, namely Mangat Ram (29) alias Mangu, son of Dhani Ram.
The deceased had gone to the house of his daughter, who was allegedly being harassed and tortured by her husband. Late last night, the husband again started beating up his wife and as soon as the father tried to rescue his daughter, the accused stabbed him brutally and fled the fled the scene.
The old man succumbed to his injuries before being shifted to hospital.
On getting information, a Police party from Police Station Pouni reached the spot and registered a case FIR no. 58/2017 U/s 302 RPC.
The accused was not arrested till filing of the repot.
