JAMMU, Mar 30: A man from Kashmir was today apprehended, while stealing a car here.
As per police sources, in a broad daylight incident, a man attempted to steal a car parked at the Hari Theatre parking of Raghunath Bazar.
The accused, who was in a hurry, moved towards wrong side, but got trapped in the traffic and was nabbed.
The thief has been identified as Afroz Ahmed Bhatt (32), son of Ghulam Ahmed Bhat, a resident of main road Doder Koot, District Kulgam, Kashmir.
A case in this regard has been registered at City police station and investigation started to ascertain the motive behind stealing the car as last week, three youth from Kashmir had snatched a weapon from a police constable in Jewel area here.
The arrest was made by SHO City Inspector Sunil Arya under the supervision of SDPO City Vivek Shekhar and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
