Man injured in scuffle near Press Club

JAMMU, Oct 12: A man was injured in a scuffle that broke out late last night near the premises of Press Club Jammu after a person allegedly misbehaved with a foreigner lady.
According to a police spokesperson two parties had come to the Press Club for dinner late last night and later one man identified as Rakesh Nischal of Link Road, Jammu, who is member of the Club, allegedly misbehaved with the wife of a local resident who is a foreigner.
He said that this resulted in a scuffle between the two parties, which continued in the parking area of the club, following which the accused tried to run from the spot while the other party tried to stop him and in this process the brother-in-law of the foreigner lady, who has been identified as Suresh Kumar (45) son of Mohan Singh of Kacchi Chawani, Jammu, received head injury after being hit by the vehicle of the accused.
The spokesman said that the injured man was shifted to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for treatment from where later he was taken to a hospital in Ludhiana for advanced treatment.
He said a case in this connection has been registered at police station Nowabad and investigations started. However, no arrests could be made so far.
