Man held with intoxicants

JAMMU, Apr 14: Sidhra police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a person along with large quantity of intoxicant injections.
As per police sources, based on specific information, a team from Sidhra police post raised a naka near Waliabad area and asked a pedestrian to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the person tried to escape, but the cops intercepted him near some distance from the naka point.
During checking, police recovered 1100 intoxicant injections from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Abdul Latief, son of Daud Gujjar, a resident of Mahore, District Reasi, at present Waliabad, Sidhra.
During preliminary investigation, it came to fore that the accused had brought the consignment from Amritsar for selling it among the youth to make them drug addicts.
With the arrest of the accused, police has achieved a major success to save the youth from becoming drug addicts.
A case under FIR Number 75/17 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Sidhra police post SI Mohd Rashad made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Nagrota Inspector Daljeet Singh, SDPO Nagrota Dr Amit Sharma and SP Rural Arun Gupta.
