Man held with illicit liquor pouches

JAMMU, Jan 23: Bhaderwah police arrested a man and recovered large quantity of illicit liquor from his possession.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Bhaderwah police station laid a naka at bus stand and asked a pedestrian to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the man tried to escape, but the cops intercepted him after a brief chase.
During checking, police recovered 38 pouches of illicit liquor from the possession of the man and arrested him on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Shiv Kumar alias Shibbi, son of Nath Ram of Kotli, Bhadarwah.
A case under FIR Number 4/17 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Bhaderwah police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Bhaderwah Inspector Jatinder Sambyal made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Bhadarwah Sajjad Khan, Additional SP Bhadarwah Sargun Shukla and Incharge SSP Doda Vinay Khullur.
