Man dies in clash

MENDHAR, Nov 29: A 60-year-old  man was killed during a clash at village Khour Bani, in Salwah area of Mendhar in district Poonch today.
Reports said that one Gulzar Ahmed hailing from Khour Bani was carrying Bazra (pebbles) from the nearby nallah on horses and was dumping  in the land of  his neighbour Noor Mohd, son of Beeru. Noor Mohd objected to the act of Gulzar and they had heated exchanges. Gulzar’s son Mohd Aslam also joined and they allegedly beat up the elderly man. The family members of Noor Mohd also rushed for the rescue and both the sides resorted to stone pelting and also exchanged lathis. Noor Mohd received a blow on his head and turned unconscious. He was removed to hospital where he was declared as dead.
The police registered a case and started investigation. While the rival party claimed that elderly man died of heart attack, the victim party alleged that he was severely beaten up by Gulzar and his son and died due to blows. However, police has initiated inquest proceedings. No arrest has been reported so far.
