JAMMU, May 19: A youth died due to alleged fall from the roof of a house in Barnai area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, the deceased has been identified as Shanty Kumar (20) son Cchatto Ram, resident of Katal Badyal (Nagrota), who was presently residing at Dharmal (Barnai) and used to work at a Saw Mill in the same area.
He said that last night the deceased was sleeping on the roof of his temporary residence and in the morning, his dead body was lying on the ground near his house.
“Prima facie it appears that the youth died due to fall from the roof”, the spokesman said, adding, Domana police has initiated proceedings under 174 CrPC in the case and after completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
