JAMMU, Jan 16: In a suspected poisoning case, a man tonight died here at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu.
According to a police spokesman, the deceased who was identified as Nek Ram (55) son of Milkhi Ram, resident of Chak Gujran (Gajansoo), was taken to Government Hospital, Marh this evening when he started vomiting.
“However, in view of his deteriorating condition, he was referred to GMCH Jammu late in the evening, where he expired after few hours”, the spokesman said, adding, the body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for post mortem.
Quoting family members, the spokesman said that the deceased was suffering from some heart ailment and used to take some medicine for his ailment regularly. “Besides, he also used to take alcohol, so it may also be case of excessive dose of medicine or alcohol poisoning but the exact reason of the death may be known only after post mortem”, he added.
