JAMMU, Oct 17: A man allegedly committed suicide today in Pounichak area of city outskirts.
“Daleep Singh (50) son of Ganja Ram, resident of Gole Panj Pir, consumed some poisonous substance at his residence this morning”, a police official said. He said in unconscious condition, the family members rushed Daleep to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he died after half an hour.
The official said in this connection, inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC have been initiated at concerned police station and after getting conducted postmortem, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs. “The deceased was working as a daily wager in Irrigation Department”, he added.
