JAMMU, July 11: A man allegedly committed suicide today by consuming some poisonous substance at his residence in Bishnah area of city outskirts.
“Ashok Kumar (50) son of Puran Chand, resident of Bishnah, consumed some poisonous substance, as he was upset over his illness”, a police official said, disclosing that the man was paralyzed for last many years.
He said in unconscious condition, Puran Chand was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he expired after some time. “After getting conducted postmortem, the body of the deceased has been handed over to his legal heirs for last rites”, the official said, adding in this connection, inquest proceedings have been initiated under Section 174 CrPC at police station Bishnah.
