JAMMU, Dec 5: Sidhra police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a man along with poppy straw.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Sidhra Police Post laid a naka and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered eight kilograms of poppy straw from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Mumtaz, son of Muzaffar, a resident of Panj Grian, Nagrota.
A case under FIR Number 262/17 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Nagrota Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Sidhra Police Post SI Tariq Ahmed made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Nagrota Inspector Bhushan Singh Manhas, SDPO Nagrota Yashbir Singh and SP Rural Shivdeep Singh Jamwal.
