JAMMU, Feb 17: A man has been arrested for raping a married woman in the area falling under the jurisdiction of Gharota Police Station.
As per police sources, a woman lodged a complaint with Police Station Gharota stating that a man identified as Pritam Kumar, son of Sewa Ram of Jandial allegedly raped her when she had gone to attend nature call.
Acting over the complaint, a case under section 376 RPC was registered at Gharota Police Station and hunt was launched to nab the rapist.
On reliable information, a team from Gharota Police Station led by SHO Inspector Rajinder Sharma arrested the accused from a hideout.
The woman has been handed over to legal heirs after completing medical examination, while further investigation into the case is going on.
