Man apprehended with illicit liquor pouches

JAMMU, Mar 30: Akhnoor police apprehended a man along with illicit liquor pouches.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Akhnoor police station laid a naka near Fowara Chowk and asked a person to stop for checking, who was hiding himself after being noticed by police cops.
During checking, police recovered 50 pouches of illicit liquor from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Maddala Durga Naidu, son of Maddala Laxmayya, a resident of Andhra Pradesh, at present Thathi Tehsil Bhalwal.
A case under FIR Number 55/17 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Akhnoor police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Akhnoor Inspector Pushpinder Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Gurvinder Pal Singh and SP Rural Arun Gupta.
