JAMMU, Oct 5: Red Ribbon Club of the Government MAM College Jammu in collaboration with Regional Red Cross Society and Blood Transfusion Department, GMC Jammu organized a blood donation camp followed by an awareness and motivational lecture on voluntary blood donation.
The camp as well as awareness lecture was organized to mark National Voluntary Blood Donation Day with the theme – “Blood Donors bring a ray of hope. Be a regular Donor”.
Principal of College, Dr Ajeet Angral along with chief guest, RC Puri, Secretary Regional Red Cross Society Jammu and resource person, Dr Vijay Sawhney, Head, Blood Transfusion and Medicine Department, GMC Jammu, inaugurated blood donation camp.
More than 41 units of blood were voluntarily donated by the students, as well as the staff members of the college donated the blood on the occasion. Dr Shiveta Gandotra, Prof Richa Gupta and Prof Sajaad Iqbal Khan were also among the blood donors.
Dr Vijay Sawhney delivered a very informative lecture where he quoted “Blood Dan as Maha Dan” This was followed by a very interactive session with students.
