JAMMU, Dec 6: The dead body of a man was recovered today from Chenab river in Jourian area of Akhnoor.
According to a police official, the dead body of a man identified as Manjeet Singh son of Gurnam Singh, resident of Jourian, was spotted by some locals in Chenab river in Devipur area.
On getting information from locals, a police team reached the spot, evicted the body from the river and shifted it to mortuary room of Sub District hospital, Akhnoor for identification and post mortem
In this connection, inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC were initiated by the concerned police.
