JAMMU, May 28: In protest against alleged maladministration and rampant corruption by the PDP-BJP Government, National Conference organized a protest rally at Marh, which was addressed by former minister and senior NC leader, Ajay Sadhotra.
While addressing the gathering, Mr Sadhotra charged the PDP-BJP Government with failure to attend the genuine problems of the people of the State, more particularly of Marh Assembly constituency.
He alleged that pick and choose policy was adopted in providing relief to the rain hit people, whose houses or crop were damaged in 2014. He also demanded a high level inquiry to ascertain, how genuine sufferers have been ignored so that the officials responsible for this negligence be punished and sufferers be given the compensation.
Mr Sadhotra alleged that corruption has become order of the day and has been virtually institutionalized, especially in Rural Development Department at Marh. “The Panchayati Raj Institutions are being eroded and Sarpanchs and Panchs are being disrespected. It is a grave act of political disempowerment of grass root democratic bodies.  The development has come to standstill and genuine beneficiaries for IAY and Latrines have been ignored,” he added and further said that the payments of works done under MGNREGA have not been done, which has frustrated the common poor labourers of Marh Assembly constituency.  Mr Sadhotra demanded a Commission of Inquiry in the functioning of Rural Development Department Marh, since the PDP-BJP Government has taken over.
The NC leader also accused the CAPD Department of ignoring the genuine beneficiaries for Antodhya and BPL by introducing National Food Security Act. “The Government has failed to prepare new ration cards and there is chaos in preparation and issuance of the same,” he alleged and also highlighted the issue of erratic power supply.
Others, who spoke on the occasion, include Rameshwar Sharma, Sub. Ghasita Ram, Piar Singh Sarpanch,  Ch  Keemat Lal Sarpanch, S  Inderpal Singh Sarpanch and  Master Prem Saini.
